Oh Happy Day!

Jake is 4 days old today! This morning he got the lines out of his belly and.....WE CAN HOLD HIM NOW! Oh Happy Day! God is SO good! I have never felt so blessed and thankful to have my sweet daughter and son! Children are truly a GIFT from the Lord! Jake was doing a little "tanning" when we got there this morning.

Then he got pretty mad when we disturbed him...

But he was all better once he was with his family!!!

Baby Jake

We welcomed our sweet, sweet boy into this world on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 12:19 p.m. He weighed 8 pounds and 6 ounces. He was 20 inches long. Baby Jake was taken immediately to the NICU due to him having breathing difficulties. He is still there and we expect him to be for several more days. Our God had his healing hand on Jake while he was in my belly, during delivery and still does right this minute. I believe the Lord is healing him now only the way that our AWESOME GOD can! Jake started at 60% oxygen and that has already been taken down to 31% as of this morning. He is slowly improving. Two tests, one of his heart and the other of his brain, have both come back normal. Praise Jesus! Jake is just precious!!! He looks so much like Blake to me. We love him more than any words I could type right now could express. Our little family is complete thanks to this precious little man. Big sister Ava is VERY proud. We are all ready for him to get well soon so we can hold him and take him home. I will post more from his birthday another time, but these are some of my favorite pictures from the past two days. Thank you all for your prayers and please continue to pray for baby Jake!

Jake's baby shower

I feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends in my life!!! I really do! I can't express how much these girls mean to me. My friends Ellen, Nikki, Ashley and Andrea worked so hard and gave us a beautiful baby shower. I had the best time visiting with all of my friends! I let Ava come with me. She told me several times after it was over, "Thank you Mommy for taking me to the baby shower with you." Precious!!!! She is going to be the BEST big sister. She is getting so excited and loved helping me open all of baby Jake's presents. You can tell in all of these pictures how PROUD she was to be there. Warning...I am large and in charge in these pictures! I just don't become one of those pregnant women that "glows." I SWELL!!! Jake will be here on Thursday, so stay tuned for more pictures!!!!
